Supporting Female War Survivors With Women For Women International

Over the years, we’ve supported a number of brilliant charities, from international causes to smaller initiatives that spark positive change in our neighbourhood.

Among those organisations are charities like Crisis, The Prince’s Trust and Choices. Elsewhere, we’ve teamed up with community projects such as east London’s Canvas Café.

As a company of 80 per cent women (CEO included!) we’re especially proud to work alongside Women for Women, an organisation that works at the critical intersection of women and conflict to provide essential life skills, knowledge, and resources that create sustainable change for women, their families, and wider communities.

Sample sale for the sisterhood

Back in 2019, we hosted a sample sale at SilkFred’s east London HQ, in aid of sponsoring young female war survivors. Our samples raised a total of £3K for Women for Women, £1K of which went towards sponsoring a young woman named Divine.

SilkFred’s donation enabled Divine to enrol alongside 24 other female war survivors on a year’s course in numeracy and literature skills, human rights, health, stress and mental health, along with entrepreneurial skills based on a vocational skill.

We’re thrilled to have been able to support Divine through her course and to partner with an organisation that supplies women with the tools they need to transform their lives over the long term.

A message of solidarity and support

Alongside our sample sale, we honoured International Women’s Day 2019 and 2020 by sending messages of solidarity to women survivors of war as part of Women for Women’s #MessageToMySister campaign.
