Sometimes we like to keep things local and forge partnerships with our wonderful Brick Lane neighbours.
Community & connection
In July 2019, we buddied up with Crisis and The Canvas Café to participate in the Hot Meals for Homeless initiative, serving up tasty and nutritional lunches for those in need.
Crisis is a national charity renowned for its work to end homelessness through education, employment, housing and well-being services. As well as helping individuals directly out of homelessness, Crisis campaign tirelessly for the wider changes needed to solve the issue altogether.
The yellow-fronted Canvas Café on east London’s Hanbury Street, meanwhile, is a community hub and creative venue as well as a local vegan eatery. Beyond its mismatched colourful furniture and delicious cakes, the café is also a basecamp for change, bringing people together to solve local problems with community spirit.
Meals for hungry mouths
Our donation of £4k provided meals for 400 people, which we served in person, over a course of 4 days throughout the month. Being able to have face-to-face contact with the people we served was as important as the donation itself.
