We’d like to give a special shout out to our team members who’ve trained hard, limbered up and thrown on their running shoes for a good cause.

Moving our bodies for mental health

SilkFred is a registered partner of mental health charity MIND, who provide vital advice and support for those experiencing mental health problems, and campaign for the wider social changes needed to help stem the mental health crisis.

In 2018 we sponsored SilkFred member Aleisha to run in the London Marathon and raised funds through a sample sale, hosted at our east London HQ. The £4K proceeds raised were donated to MIND. Go Aleisha!

As a company, we’re continuously looking at new ways to provide mental health support in the workplace. From flexi-working hours to gym memberships to socials, we want to create a nurturing environment for all our team members.

For more information on the brilliant work that MIND do, or to make a donation, head to the charity’s website.

Taking on Urban Rush for Shelter

In 2019, a group of SilkFred team members laced up and took part in Urban Rush, held in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

They each ran a half marathon of 15 miles through the capital, raising over £1,300 for Shelter, a charity aiming to end homelessness and bad housing in England and Scotland. From campaigning to advice, Shelter’s work has changed the lives of millions of people.

The team was a touch footsore afterwards – but thrilled to have run for a great cause.

You can donate, support or volunteer with Shelter via the charity’s website.
