A question a lot of us have recently asked: how do I adjust to working from home? When you’re used to working in a shared space with others, this is quite the shift to acclimatise to. The best place to start when looking for answers? Ask someone in the know. Our model Naomi has shared her working from home routine. From organising her work schedule, home life and social calendar, this is what a typical WFH day looks like for Naomi.
7am: Good Morning!
Have a big stretch and grab a cup of coffee: it’s the start of a new day. Getting up in good time means you won’t rush to start work. As you can see here, Naomi is heading straight for the kettle with plenty of time to get ready.
8am : Let’s Get Moving
Getting the heart pumping will help to you wake up and get you motivated. Whether you’re doing an at home workout, or off for a morning walk like Naomi, getting energy flowing early on is great for the work-at-home mindset.
9am : Meetings, Meetings, Meetings
We like to start our work at home days catching up with the team and planning our day. Having a schedule is key to a productive work day and keeping on track. Whether you’re on the phone like Naomi or chatting on Google Hangouts, taking those few minutes to check in and organise is really beneficial.
2pm : Strike A Pose
After a spot of lunch, it’s time to get into projects. Naomi has been snapping outfits, taking videos and recording lives. Quite the task when the studio team are working remotely! But with any project like this, team work, even when we’re spread out, makes the dream work.
5pm : Tidying Up
Work has wrapped up for the day! Likelihood is that your still in a focused state-of-mind, so now’s a great time to get some house jobs done. From doing a bit of dusting like Naomi to giving the sofa cushions a plump, even the littlest task can make you feel accomplished.
6pm : What’s For Dinner?
Our stomaches are growling: time to eat. Think of cooking as mindfulness exercise that delivers delicious results. It’s a great way to start to slow things down. Looks like Naomi is prepping a vegetable stew.
7pm : Catching Up With Friends
Thank goodness for the internet huh? After dinner is the perfect time to chat with your mates. Like Naomi, grab a glass of your favourite fizz and have a natter over skype.
9pm : And Relax
A productive day deserves a chilled evening. It’s time for snacks, telly and super comfy loungewear. We’re pretty sure Naomi’s catching up on Corrie. Have a good night’s sleep and we’ll see you tomorrow x
